Alma Mater Launch

Last night I went to Westminster Cathedral to the launch of Alma Mater, a CD that the Vatican Choir and the Royal Philharmonic has released featuring Pope Benedict XVI.
It was pretty much amazing! I reckon I would make a good Catholic... I like the oldness of it, they aren’t trying to be something they are not! I just don’t get why they like Mary so much… sure she baked Jesus for nine months in her womb, but why does that make her worthy of worship? Hmmm
Anyway, it was a very sacred and special evening, if the Vatican choir are ever in the UK again you should go, I reckon you would like it!

My blog, now featuring in a Church near you!!

Dad quoted from both Becky and mine's blogs this morning in Church, he used them as an example of love.
Awww, how heart warming and gooey!!
You can hear it here at around 10:29ish, for some reason there is no recording till 0.43, so you will have to be patient!
He did however change the word 'crap' to 'rubbish', I am seeking legal council!

Embracing the ancient at Christmas

This Christmas time I am going to be embracing the Christian tradition of keeping the daily offices. Its an ancient practice (often called fixed hour prayer), it has been passed down to us along with the Sabbath and holy communion as an integral part of Christian worship by the early church. It involves taking time out to read and reflect on selected readings in ‘The Morning Office’ between 6 and 9am, ‘The Midday Office’ between 11am and 2pm and ‘The Vespers Office’ between 5 and 8pm.
I like the idea of being part of something ancient. I start on Sunday, shall keep you posted as to how I get on.
